i dont think so either, if you go with the number of physical cores sure, but intel has HTT still... and clock for clock amd does not hold a candle to intel
 
hyper threading dont give you extra cores, it only makes the cores run better in multi-threaded software applications.HT is over rated IMO
 
even without the HT the single core speed of the intel will smack down the phenom, theres no contest there, and unless amd has gotten their act together on power management, which im not certain about, the intel probably is a little less power hungry than the amd chip, i havent had good luck with amd and my laptop being good on battery

Im not disagreeing with you, i know intel laptop CPU's are better no argument there.I was just stating dont buy a Intel CPU just because it has HT, it only gives a little boost.its not how people put it out there to be.
