Just gonna mention: most of you probably know that the price for the i7 950 is way down, but did any of you know about the 870? It's about at the price of the 860 now. Just in case any of you want to buy. ;)
 
So the 860 hasn't gone down in price? The 930 hasn't officially, but Alot of etailers here are doing them for about £190, since the massive slash of 950 price :P

I don't think it has, mainly because there are still a lot of people willing to pay ~$290 for the 860. The i7 870 has pretty much been replaced with the 875k and the 880. No one really bought it in the first place, either.
 
It is too bad Intel still wants one thousand dollars for the i7 980X Six-Core Processor.

I have no clue why anyone would pay $1,040 for the i7 975 Quad-Core Extreme Edition Processor. What can the i7 975 Quad-Core Processor do that the Core i7 950 can not do? The i7 975 will take $740 more out of your pocket than the Core i7 950.

What I think is more ludicrous is the fact that the 980x costs $40 less than the 975. WTF??? :confused:

If you want an i7 hexa, just wait till Sandy Bridge comes out. Hopefully they'll lower the 970 to <$750 and it will at least be affordable to some extent. Still, you never know with Intel. They're kinda stingy IMO.

I am actually hoping to not have to upgrade my processor for a while. I am hoping the price comes down to below $100 on a quality 60 gigabyte solid state drive. 250 megabyte per second read speeds would definitely speed up my system.

Yeah, IMO if your system can handle the games that you want to play (if any) then your best investment is a faster HDD or SDD. :good:
