What's the best monitor

Hey guys. :D I'm looking at buying a monitor I want you guys to help me pick the best one suited to my needs. I live in Australia, generally the prices are more expensive here than the US, so that has to be kept in mind. I was wanting to spend around $400 maybe a bit more if it's worth it. I was looking at the Samsung BX2450 which was $350, the Dell U2410 which was $700 and the HP LP2475w which costs $520 not including shipping from the US to Australia. I wiped off the Dell since it was too expensive, the HP I'm a bit unwilling to spend that much and the Samsung seems good but it's not an IPS monitor. I'm quite fussy with the visuals so I want good blacks, colour etc as well as a decent response time. It's more for gaming for my 360 that the specs of the monitor have to meet for, not really for movies. I was wanting a 24 inch screen size with decent pixels, around 1980*1200. Can you guys suggest a very good monitor visually for my price range designed for gaming, IPS preferably?

Thanks guys! :good:

Well I purchased the BX2450 a couple of days ago and so far I'm loving it. Still too early for me to offer much more input than that though. One thing that has annoyed me is the touch sensitive buttons. It is quite hard to see where they are, and when you do find them they don't always respond. It was quite painful going through and finding all the contrast/brightness/etc settings that I wanted. Though, once you get it set up it's not really a problem, and looks more stylish than buttons sticking out.

Make sure you don't buy it from one of the store retailers (dick smiths, good guys, etc). I was shopping around and found that they had the 21.5" model (BX2150 or whatever it's called) for $390, more than what I paid for my BX2450. Complete rip off.

Thanks for the info on the Samsung. I actually heard that the Dell website often have specials on the U2410 monitor for about $430-$470. I was wondering if anyone knew how often these sales were?

Thanks guys! :D (by the way I'm talking about the AU store)

Ive got a bigger Samsung TV/Monitor and absolutely love it, they are very good screens/monitors and i think them to be the leading in monitors/tvs.

I have just had a 22" LED LG Monitor for a customer which is very very nice as well, dont know what prices other would be but thats a very ncie monitor and has very nice colours

is the bx2450 good for xbox 360? i'm lookin for a monitor for xbox 360 at the moment. lookin for recommendations

I'd recommend samsungs and just having a look at that actual monitor youll be getting a Full-HD LED Monitor from one of the top brands and i wouldnt hesitate to get on emyself if i was looking for it!

Go for the samsung! :good:

I don't know about Samsung, I am using one right now, syncmaster E2220, and I don't really like it. My older 19" LG looked a hell of a lot better, I'm taking this monitor back tomorrow and swapping it for an LG LED back-lit monitor.
