Hi all iv not posted for a while but i have just run into an issue with my system ... I have finaly got arround to finishing it and have been looking into memory , Iv read up on dual channel etc and found that my board only has 2 blue daul channel slots , And i have read of so many issues with trying to run 8 gigs , so i have opted to run a set of 2 x 2gig crossair dominators in Dual channel @ 1066 .....

Now what has PISSED ME RIGHT OFF is .. the memory timings now the 2 gigs of DDR2 633 i have in single channel mode in the system right now is showing a memory timing of 5.5.5.14 , The crossair dominator that iv just paid 120.00 quid for states memory timings of 5-5-5-15 , Now either i have just made a huge mistake and thrown away good money for less speed or i am being an idiot.....

Can anyone explain???
 
It's harder to run lower timings at higher speeds, and you have more cycles to so that 5-5-5 on the 1066 . If the RAM was the same speed 5-5-5-14 vs 5-5-5-15 will barely show up in benchmarks but since you've effectively doubled the speed it's much faster

Ah excellent thats a releaf , so can i expect to notice much improvement on a benchmark??
