My desktop is Pentium (R)-Intel 4, 2 GHz CPU, 512 MB of RAM. Windows XP Home Version 2002-Service Pack 3.
If I want to upgrade the RAM to buy anything it needs and what should be done? Maximum can be raised is how much? Can I upgrade to 2GB? If not, why?
Thanks to the master!

Consult your motherboard manual if you have one and if not look up the the motherboard from the manufacturers website.
It will have all the info you require.

Your motherboard probably does support 2GB of RAM, if not more.

But I doubt that someone can say anything more specific until you post the actual model/manufacturer.

Did you build the system yourself, or did you buy it prebuilt?

If the former, what brand/model motherboard is it, if the latter, what brand/model computer is it?

My friend gave me...that means it is prebuilt. The tower is Dell but I don't know what model? So how to look for the model?
Thanks,

I know it sounds stupid but Dell usually put stickers on their machines telling you the model. Can you see any stickers on yours with what appears to be model numbers. These are usually a mixture of alphanumeric characters and roughly 6 - 8 digits long (some models may vary).

I understand but I don't know which one is. I see a sticker on the top with some information:
Product key: 5 x 5 = 25 of mixture of alphanumeric characters
And other number serial...

Wow! At rear side I saw a sticker with the number:
159CK21
That's its model, right?
Thanks
