I have an iso that is too large to be burned to a DVD, so I need to burn it to a flash drive or an external hard drive... Is there any way I can do this inside windows? The iso is my backup of my DVD that is now broken of Mac OS X. My iMac had to be wiped clean and I need to install an OS on it. Can someone PLEASE help me install my os back on there. I need to burn this iso to my usb drive. Please help! Thank you all! :D

Sorry. My computer was having problems and it made 2 posts. I apologize. This is the one that will be used to discuss my problem

I am not sure about that, but have you looked into dual layer DVD's? They are around 6 dollars, but they hold 8.something gigs iirc.

I don't know anything that can do that in Windows. If you have another Mac somewhere, you can take the iso and using Disk Utility, restore it to the USB drive. I highly doubt there is another way to do this, as HFS+ format is not available to Windows.

Is it a bootable ISO? If so, download a program called "USB Prep" (see link below) and format the drive to FAT16. Second, download and run a program called "unetbootin-windows-471.exe". Browse to the ISO and select the drive you wana send it to. It will then make the IDO bootable on the flash drive.

You can download USB Prep from here: http://www.jcmiras.net/surge/p96.htm

Unetbootin can be downloaded from here: http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/

P.S. Even if you don't need to make it bootable and just need to expand the ISO you can use Unetbootin to expand it on the drive. Or just open the ISO with WinRAR if you just need to browse it and extract some files.

Thank you so much for posting those, I'm going to see about using them in my tech guide.
You should be able to open the .iso using something like WinRAR. From there you could just copy them over to the flash drive.
Doesn't work that way. It has to be the Mac HFS+ filesystem, and it has to be copied over using the Restore function in Disk Utility, otherwise you have problems.
