strange problem...

i just had my computer (dell) reformatted, at my local computer shop, and for some reason, i have all 4 of my other computers plugged into my dlink, and they work, but as soon as i plug my dell into my dlink, they all stop working...

i cant figure out what the problem is...

thanks for your help guys.
 
Does removing another computer from the router before putting your dell in its place still cause this problem?
 
I would say you've got a bad ethernet card on the pc that is shorting out possibly or a bad cable, try a different one. Also, you might want to think about switching the cables around on the router.

when i plug the dell directly into my modem, the dell connects to the internet...
but the problem is, of course i can connect the other computers to the dlink because i can plug the dlink into the modem because the dell is occupying the modem...

really strange... and when i plug the dlink into the modem, and all my other computers into the dlink, right away, they all work fine... literally the second i plug the dell into the dlink.. all other computers, stop working, and the dell wont connect either.....
 
Do a hard reset on the router to set it back to defaults and see if that fixes the issue.
