DVD help

In my opinion powerdvd is crap, so don;t bother, unless its like version 10 or something, which is relatively good. vlc is ok, but what i use, and prefer is the windows media player + Klite codek pack full. so plays DVD and ANY video formats.

thanks but

I tryed to install K Lite Pack and when it is installing it says
Error one of the registry keys is missing.

So I stick with VLC.

But I would love to get rid of it and get something just as good?????

does it say which registry key is missing, or perhaps try searching online for solutions, because klite pack is great if you can get it to work.

i do mean if you are thinking of paying for a program, like powerdvd, make sure its the latest one, since they offer more support, like mkv file and so on. but would like to think and hope that the klite problem could be resolved...

thanks but

Ok I am going to do that because when I did have it and it was working I did love it a lot over every other program.

Can you give me a direct link to the file?
When ever I go to get it I think I may be getting maybe and old verson or not the Full verson.

Is there a way ou can give me a linke to the file it'self??????

thanks but

When I go to install it it goes to the end and stops and tells me.

"error creating registry key
HKEY_classes_root\.3gp2

RegCreateKeyEx failed code 5.
access denied"

Can you help????

basically you are not an admin, so can't install things on computer. what your OS, if windows xp then go right click on the installer and click run as, and there should be a choice for admin, if you have vista or 7, then go right clikc properties, compatability and click run as administrator, click ok, and try again. that should sort it out!!!

Wow, you have a lot of DVD problems, kinda funny.

I personally have no clue why it's not working. It's what I use all the time, in fact, I used it just a couple months ago for my netbook.

Are there other admin accounts on that computer? if so try using one of them. Umm, if you have any firewalls at all on (including windows firewall) turn them off. Make sure you have downloaded the right one, for your OS (that is the klite codec pack). Have you tried an older or different download? If none of this works, check their FAQs, they might have something.

thanks but

I turned off my Firewall it is win firwall and that is the only firewall I have.

It still told me the same thing.
When I did use this a fue years ago I did love it I realy would like to get it to work.

I un installed it the first time because I tryed VLC and I don't like it. So Now I would like to get it to work.

Is there anything you can think of?
And yes I right clicked on it and click Run As but there is no run as Admin.

help again

When I try to install it and it gives the Error it has 3. Tabs.

Retry
Abort
Ignore

I try the Retry Tab and nothing. So if I try the Ignore Tab my gess is that it wont try to create the Registry Key.

But if it needs it is this not a bad thing to do??

Or what is the Ignore Tab?

Go ahead and try hitting the ignore button.

did you do what i said, the right click properties, because there is still the question of UAC, or something like that...
Yeah hit the ignore button and see what happens!!

thanks but

I did right click on it and hit Run As and a window did come up asking me to Log IN
I click the Admin account I made and typed my pass word. And it told me I was wrong.

So I tryed the Defalt ADMIN account from the liost and just hit enter. And it told me I was still wrong.

I even tryed no password and Nothing worked.

So I tryed just to install it and hit Ignore and after doing it for some time it installed.

But I have a video signal going into my computer into a firewire carde. So I go to the Media Player file open device.

And it would not display andything.

So I had to uninstall it and go back to VLC.
