I thought my system was good enough, but I'm not well versed in these things. Can someone help me out? Are they just totally incompatible or am I doing something wrong with the installation? If it's incompatible... then why? What would be the best level card to use instead?

Thanks!

Yes it is compatible as you have a PCI-E x16 slot, but your power supply will not be able to handle it, is there any money you can drop on a new power supply too?

So 400w isn't gona do it huh? What would I need? It depends on how much such things are... I'm quite the noob to computer gaming needs. The thing is, is that I plug in my Video Card and it slides in nicely into the PCI slot, but when I plug in my monitor and reboot my system, the monitor doesn't recognize that it's being used, either that or the computer is just not recognizing the Video Card? I mean... shouldn't it at least come on before crashing due to lack of power, or is the lack of power the fact that it's not even being recognized in the first place...

I'm sorry for being such a neophyte about this stuff... I really want to know what to do as I just spent 112 bucks on this brand new EVGA GTS 250 and I'm frustrated that it won't work.

Thanks so much,

I realized I hadn't plugged the 6 pin in the back as my previous video card didn't require as such! Thanks for your help though!!

What brand is your power supply? If it is a decent brand 400W should be enough, but if it is some POS unit, I would change it asap before it blows and takes out half your system with it.

Its a Pre-Built machine, so OEM powersupply. ASUS doesn't use good powersupplies.
