Anyone here still uses the CRT monitor?

I would throw it in the trash. Waste management will pick it up.
You can't throw CRT's in with regular trash, they need to be disposed of properly. Most transfer stations have an electronics dumpster for things like CRT's, some cities charge (usually $5-$10 at most), while others are free.

I still have a 19" CRT. The things a beast. It still works quite well but I did order a new LCD to replace it yesterday.

I have a couple I use to do repair jobs with - I have 4 LCD monitors in the house, but they're all being used.

Nothing wrong with CRTs if you have the room for them. LCDs are still a little more pricey than their giant ancestors, although they're becoming rapidly cheaper. I picked up a 19" LCD on Craigslist for $45 the other day. Of course, you can get free CRTs on Craigslist nearly any day of the week around here.

My dad still has 1 or 2 sitting around in his lab connected to instruments. Other than that i don't think I've used a CRT monitor in years.

I have plenty of crt's. I'm on one right now.
I have lcd's on 3 comps here.
I'll get more lcd's when others fail or space is an issue.

i also believe apple stores recycle old computers/monitors for free so if there is a place near u... or donate it to ur local goodwill (if its not a dead crt) tax deduct!

Crt

I still use my crt, It has been reliable . It is an IBM 22inch monster and holds down my computer desk very well while gaming. I tend to get into the game a little bit.
