hello. im looking for a good am3 board that supports sli. i would like to have both pci e lanes at 16, and maybe support usb3, sata6. newegg or tigerdirect would be good. im planning on using my 470 as dedicated and my gtx 260 for physx, and later getting a 2nd 470 for sli and get rid of the 260. much thanks oh yeah, budget will be around $150 tops

to me i wouldnt even look for sli on amd, if you are really wanting sli, id grab a nvidia system, as they have had more performance per clock lately, and are more flexible with their chipset in accordance to sli/xfire but thats my thought on the matter, you may pay more, but you do get your choice on graphics card choice and flexiblity

so whats going to happen to sli on amd boards? should i not go sli anymore?

Its really hard to tell. Since Intel doesn't make a stand alone graphics card, they allow C/F and SLI to run on their (Intel) chipsets. AMD owns ATI, so there is no way in hell they will allow SLI on a AMD chipset. When Intel comes out with their own graphics card, I would say they will shut down C/F and SLI on their chipset. Which will leave Nvidia out in the pasture field with SLI.

I think you mean Intel, not Nvidia. Nvidia doesn't make any new chipsets for Intel either. Intel allows C/F or SLI to run on their (Intel) chipset.
