Need help picking new PC!

Hey guys, I'm new here, and I'm desperately looking for good opinions/help with purchasing a new PC. I am still using a POS dell from E510 2007!

Through the years I have lost all of what little computer sense I had.

Right to the point, I am looking for a GREAT, not mediocre/good, desktop.
That is prebuilt. I'm on a budget around 700$. I would push over 1k, but thats why I am here to ask :)

Through the months I've been told to go only Quad core (of course I'm not sure if that is necessary) And I have mainly looked at nothing but HP computers in the 600-800$ range. But mind you I'm still computer ignorant!

Are there any other website , like cyberpower etc that provide such goodies?

-Basically looking for an all in one PC that will last me a good amount of years.

-I won't be gaming hardcore, but the gaming aspect is pretty important, I wouldn't mind being able to run Nextgen games at least somewhat smoothly.

-I will be running After effects alot, but Im sure that requirements for that can be met easily.

-Gaming, gaming gaming. Something that lets me finally go MAX Settings, or dam close to it. I'm tired of compensating beauty for performance :(

And if no pre-built option is the best way to save money and have a kick#$% rig. I wouldn't mind some builds/link to affordable builds, and commission my computer savvy buds to build it.

You'll still need a DVD drive and a copy of windows. You will be able to do anything and everything on that computer.

thanks! yeah I figured building would still be cheaper. Just don't want to run into scary unexpected problems others do such as bluescreens and what not.

being as un-computer-literate as I am, I might just follow every piece you've given me.
 
Hmm, Any opinions on the prebuilt linked?

Unless with the extra bucks I save from having it build myself, I would be able to put in more funds in for , more RAM , and possibly a better graphics card. Perhaps that might be the better alternative.
 
G6950 is better at gaming than Athlon II X4 645, especially when overclocked.

If you can find P7P55-M anywhere, then get that

Depends on your budget, they are all great boards.

This HDD is cheaper and just as fast.
GPU - HD6850 is much faster, and is still in budget

Links are broken for me. 404 error. Are they the same parts linkin listed? AMD processors
use dual-channel RAM, so you'll want 4 or 8GB.

Yes they are they same. If your saying I only have a choice between 4 or 8GB.

I might go with the 8

Yeah, its either 2GB, 4GB or 8GB. For some games, 2GB won't be enough and you'll slow down when multitasking heavily. 4GB seems to be the sweet spot ATM. Though if you can find it for a reasonable price, then 2x4GB sticks certainly won't hurt being in your system.

Eh, you can build that computer for $600 or even less if you shop smart. I'd go with linkins build for sure.
