Decent Uprade?

Even if the cooler fit, which it won't, it would be about 10 bucks for new paste. I think the AII 445 would be a good choice in that price range.

I don't know how much better it is but I'd guess is that it's muchh better. make sure your motherboard supports that cpu tough as I think your current cpu is a AM2 socket and you need a AM2+ or AM3 for the new cpu.

You think it'd be better? lol. Better be, Im just asking because if not then I wont buy anything yknow?
Oh and AM3 socket CPU's are backwards compatible with AM2/AM2+ motherboards
 
the AM3's are backwards compatible !physically! but not all motherboards support them via BIOS update. therefore you should check you motherboards manufacturers website. I had this problem and had to upgrade the motherboard too.

and yeah, I THINK, I wont say IT IS if I don't know for sure. but the Athlon 2 X4 640 is a huge upgrade. and the cpu you gave is much newer too than what you have. look at the review's, people seem to like it.
