Do any of them have HDD with 7200 rpm, or an SSD, way faster doing anything!!!
plus the core i5 is going to be better since the i7 is slower processors, then the i5. its better to have two with 3.2 (i5) then 4 with 1.6 (i7)
any have blu-ray drive???
that is not full HD Display 15.6" Full HD/HD (1366x768) , full HD will be 1920*1080
I do like the USB3.0

My new laptop has a 7200 rpm H.D. but only a Intel i3 processor, it is doing a good job for me, I am not into games. :-) Oh it does have a lightscribe DVD/RW.

I actually posted the above thread just to know which laptop will be better from the four, sorry for not specifying it earlier.
Can I know whether i5 would support lots of multitasking like i7?
Does i7 come in only mobile category other than quad ones?

The i7 720QM has 4 cores, 1.6 GHz, but supports turbo boost upto 3.06 GHz.
Does that beat i5 540M, 2 cores, 2.53GHz , turbo boost upto 3.06GHz. :)

budget?
Are you use it for game?
Yes for hardcore gaming, should support gaming for at least 3 years, for office work in future.
I am after i7 quad processors because they support huge multitasking and playing games like call of duty black ops, fifa 11, battlefield.:rolleyes:

Well, you can play those games not because of multitasking processor (although the more the merrier) but because of the GPU. and yes if the i7 can do the turbo boost to that then its not a problem (although that kind of jump is too big in my opinion from 1.6 to 3.06. and the turbo boost recks the battery life, at least i think so, when it was enable my battery life was like 1 and half hours and then i reinstalled and did not install driver for it, so now my battery life is 3 hours. (but i think i am misunderstanding the turbo boost thing)
i also think you are misunderstanding, the i5 has 2 physical and 2 virtual cores and i7 has 4 physical and 4 virtual, and the total is logical cores. i have i5 and it plays call of duty, fifa 11, and battlefield very well without lag or anything, specs below.
and also if you buy the new laptop make sure you keep your 7200 rpm hard drive, since the 5400 is sooo slow, you can see the difference.
lightscribe, not trying to be rude but so what. i would prefer to have bluray over lightscribe. obviously both together would be nice, but my priority would be bluray.

So which brand do you suggest?
Asus, Sony, Dell, HP
thank you for the information, it was very helpful. :)
