Hello, im new here and im about to buy a pc (this week or next week) and i am looking for some help with the list of components that will be in the pc when i receive it.

Here is the list. ( I changed the graphics card and processor )

The price of the pc is 6,660.92 NOK = 1,110.93 USD Im buying it in norway so i don't know if the price would be better in the US or wherever :)

If I'm reading that right, you have two cases and four copies of windows there...?

As far as the working bits, it looks ok except for the power supply. I'd look for a 550w-ish unit from a well-known manufacturer. Cheaper no-name units tend to be amazingly crappy, and the PSU is the most important part of your system. It's like the heart and lungs all in one. Cheaper ones almost universally can't deliver their rated power, and when they blow, they can take out some or all of your other components as well. Some good, popular brands include Corsair, Seasonic, Silverstone, Antec, Enermax, and XFX. There are other good ones as well, but those are what you're most likely to see.

Also, see if you can get an i5 750 or 760 instead of the 660. It shouldn't be much more expensive, and those are true quad core processors rather than just hyperthreaded dual core ones. They're much faster.
 
thx for the reply, lol apparently the 760 i5 processor costed less than the 660 i5 processor, one of the cases is just a shipping thing and i think the windows stuff is a manual, sticker thing for the pc, cd, etc.

Good choice on the PSU.

My only other nitpick would be with the Hard drive, since you could probably get a faster Caviar Black or Spinpoint F3 for a similar price. SE16 is the same as Caviar Blue, WD's mainstream line, so it's still a decent drive if you don't want to bother with it.

If you're fine with the price of the 2GB one, I don't see any reason to change it.

However, a factory overclocked 460 like the Gigabyte Super Overclock(SOC) or the MSI Hawk Talon Attack would probably perform better, despite being only 1GB.

And last thing. I noticed that this pc case only had one fan (i think) Cooler Master Elite 430 Midi Tower Black fan: 1x 120mm Front, Blue LEDs, mATX, ATX, 2x USB, 1x Audio
So i was wondering is one fan enough? :O

Nothing wrong with wanting to make sure you've bought the right system. :) Yes, your build is absolutely better than that one.

One fan should be just fine, but even if it's not, that case can fit four more of them. No worries there. :good:
 
Okay then I'm officially done :D Im gonna buy 4 more Akasa Amber 120mm fans some time later when ive got money. Thx for ur massive help dremlin. I think im gonna stick around this forum as it seems nice and fun :D

Hello, i'm back now as i need some help :O I decided to buy the pc in another store but i needed help with something else. I was wondering if it would be smart to change out this cpu > Intel Core™ i5 Quad Processor i5-760 (Quad Core, 2.80Ghz, Socket 1156, 8MB, 95W, Boxed w/fan) < with a > AMD Phenom II X6 1055T (Six Core, 2,8GHZ/3,3GHz Turbo, AM3, 9MB, 125W, Boxed) <
I was just wondering if this would increase the performance of the pc and if all other components work together with it or something :F

The reason i don't wanna spend allot of extra money on a different cpu because i found a pretty nice video card (atleast i think its nice) for not much more money > ZOTAC GeForce GTX 470 1280MB AMP! (PCI-Express 2.0, GDDR5, 2xDVI, native-mini HDMI, HDCP, CUDA, PhysX) < I would appreciate if someone told me if there is anything better for the same price and if this is worth doing instead of just proceeding with my old list :F

p.s i also found this card > XFX GeForce GTX 285 670M 1GB PhysX CUDA (PCI-Express 2.0,"XXX", 2xDVI, HDCP, Graphics Plus, 670/2500Hz) < which is cheaper than the gtx 470 and is on a higher spot at the video card benchmarks here >http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/...arts-high-quality/Alien-vs-Predator,2458.html As said I'm not that good at this so i was also wondering, shouldent 800 clockspeed on the gtx 460 be better than the 470s clockspeed of 656? :D

800+ clock speed on the 460 will put it roughly around the same performance as a stock GTX 470. When the 460 is about ~840-850 they're "even", but even at 800 the difference will be minuscule.

However, if you've found a factory overclocked 470, then it'll likely be the faster card.

A 285 is indeed faster than the 470, but it's also older. It isn't capable of using DirectX 11, and lacks several other features that the 4xx series has.


Changing the CPU from an i5 to an Phenom will require you to change the motherboard as well.

Hvor skal du kjøpe fra nå? Og hvis du tenker på å kjøpe fra utlandet, husk den enorme frakten her i Norge. Og jeg ser du har et tann- /kjeveproblem? (:F) hoh :D
 
Nei jeg skal kjøpe den i norge :D men ville kjøpe den fra en fysisk butikk så jeg fant en i nærheten (sandefjord) så lett data, de får varene sine fra komplett.no og kan bygge dataen til deg. Så sånn ble det :) Smileyn lærte jeg meg lenge siden av en venn på et spill :D husker ikke hvem :P det skal være vampyr :F
