im switching motherboards from an asus p7p55d to an asus rampage lll formula,
i have the new cpu already but i dont have new ram yet. right now i have 2 2x2Gb ram. could i take 3 of those and use it in place of triple channel until i get the new ram?

thanx, your sure tho? i dont want to damage anything.

They work together no problems now, so it is just about certain they are matched.

So long as they are all the same specs (same speed, timings, voltage, and preferably same manufacturer/model) it won't be a problem, and it won't hurt the memory, or the motherboard.

You could buy 3 single 1GB sticks if you wanted, you could buy 3 2x2GB sets (6x2GB) and it will all work, so long as it is matched. There is a chance that they won't be happy working together, but as I said, you have all 4 working together no problems, so they should all be fine together
