Can OCZ ModXStream Pro 700W Modular handle a dual sli with 2 gtx 470

i7 950
ASUS P6X58D-E Motherboard
EVGA GeForce GTX 470 1280MB 012-P3-1470-KR
Lite-On iHBS212 12x Blu-Ray Disc Writer with LightScribe
G.Skill F3-12800CL9T-6GBNQ (3x2GB) DDR3
Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB WD1002FAEX
OCZ ModXStream Pro 700W Modular

including those will the psu be able to handle sli with 2 gtx 470

Have you already bought it?

I wouldn't risk it. The review on [H] showed that it won't put out full power properly, and you'd be nearing that with this rig.

no i havent bought it yet, so the psu wont support dual sli? if not can u recomment me 1

I suppose, but I think you should get something better than an OCZ for a build this nice.

Where are you buying from?

Are you saying you have 4 x 470s? or 3, or 2. Please specify

I believe what the OP is saying, is SLI with two GTX 470's.

I would generally suggest staying away from OCZ power supplies when running a taxing load such as this, they are decent for lower wattage setups, but for yours i would recommend something a bit higher quality.

The XFX power supplies(750/850W units) are based on the Seasonic M12D platform, and will fulfill your power requirements:

Modular:

The Antec Truepower New will also fulfill your power requirements.

The corsair units are also good units(the TX/HX/AX lineup), but most of the time are priced higher than designs from competing companies that perform at or above their level (for example, the XFX units beat the TX and HX lineup for ripple suppression and regulation, among other things)

Modular (The HX line also is a higher quality product in addition to being modular):

I'd recommend at least an 800W for this, so staying under 140 and getting a good one will be tough. The closest you're going to find there is the Antec HGC-900, which is selling for $165. That's an amazing deal for a very good 900W PSU.

edit: Side note, that store has an awesome selection for a small-ish business. It's interesting to see Superflower there...they aren't sold in the states very often. The Golden Green platform is what's behind the very awesome NZXT Hale90 series, as well as the Kingwin Lazer Gold units.

Of the two, I'd take the Antec.

You'll be pushing it, though. If you do any overclocking, you could easily break 700W power usage with that rig. You'll definitely be able to break 675W, or 90% power usage.

I would really suggest a more powerful unit. That Antec I posted is only $16 more, for an extra 150W. It's even cheaper than most of the 800W units.

Good choice. :)

PSU's are generally happy around 50-70% usage, where their efficiency is highest. You'd be well over that with the 750W even without overclocking.

Guru3d's power consumption test showed a sub 600W draw on a system with an overclocked i7 and twin 470's.
