Can you plug a PCI-E x1 male into a PCI-E 2.0 female?

In other words, is this sound card compatible with this motherboard?

PCI-e is cool like that...as long as the card physically fits in the slot, it'll work. Little cards can go in big slots, and vice-versa...you can actually put a GPU in an x1 slot if you file a notch in it. It'll be bottlenecked, but it'll work.

Dont know about that.

A true PCIe X16 slot has 16 lanes. You can plug a PCIe X1 card in a X16 slots and it just uses one PCIe lane.
