Noob building a computer

Hi everyone!

im currently building a computer, so far i only got Intel® Core™ i7-960 Processor and a DX58SO mother board.

im looking into:
RAM:4GB memory
500GB HD is fine
GPU gtx460 or any suggestion (i want to run dual monitor)
a fine sound card
cooling system ( i want to overclocking my cpu)
i duno what case fits the motherboard
Not sure what PSU i need
duno what else i need
My budget is around 1000$US, ( I already got the board and CPU)

Basicaly im trying to build a gaming destop that will last maybe next 3 or 4 years

NewEgg doesn't charge tax in most states. In some states though, like California I understand, they do. The shipping costs will be listed with each of the items you are ordering, and you can get a final price with shipping costs included when you add all of the items to your shopping cart and add a zipcode.

Why did you get a 960 when the 950s are virtually the same but half the price:confused:

This sound card is a step down from the DX but you probably won't notice the difference while gaming.
 
the board and the 960 come with a combo for 265$ :D

what soundcard u suggest?

can i use two HD6870 in this build?

That's an extremely good combo, usually I wouldn't reccomend an Intel Board or an overpriced 960, but that combo price is amazing...

Really weird how the board only has 4 DIMM slots. Still uses triple-channel memory, though, 3 x 2GB is the way to go.

Yes, you can put two HD6870 in Crossfire on the board. They scale amazingly well.

I'd suggest either the Xonar DX, DS or DG depending on budget. All will sound better than onboard sound.
 
im from canada which store i should order from? i know newegg had inventory in canada too but im just wondering if there is a better store
 
And I thought the US was bad...wow. When you buy from an online store here, you don't pay sales tax unless the company has a physical location in your state...so for Newegg, that's California, Tennessee, and I think New York.
