HDD Failure

So I just got my SSD and I was about to start transferring stuff off my Seagate and it started to make a wobbling high pitched sound. So before I RMA it I will use it till it either A. fails or B. my replacement gets here.

So I am fighting between these 3 drives atm.
1TB WD

500GB WD

500GB Samsung

Now mind you I *might* use this strictly for storage (unpowered and used for backups) or I might use it as a secondary to the SSD.

Which one is best? I am not looking to spend much more but I want reliability again. I have had 4 seagate drives fail within a year of purchase and its getting old. My money is on the Black drive....I am kinda kicking myself as I had a chance to get the 1TB version for the same price during the BF/CM days.

However if I get the 1TB it will only be used till the replacement gets back and then used as a backup disk as I HATE multiple platters. My luck is the more platters the 3 months per platter sooner it breaks :P

I got a Vertex 2 90GB but I am selling it to pay for some other stuff now. I had a few items on my other PCs break and I have a strict rule on PC buying. I have a "fund" where I put x amount in and I refuse to spend more than the fund has. Fund is tapped so next measure is selling the biggest drain lol

I have a problem with Hitachi though....I mean most people I ever heard talk about them would so "I don't like the Hitachi Deathstars" from their high fail rate :P
