Building a gaming Computer

Hi there I was hoping I could get some help with choosing what to get for a new gaming computer.

This is currently what I'm looking at

-Cooler Master HAF X Tower Case

-Intel Core™ i7 Processor 950 3.06GHz w/ 8MB Cache

Corsair Hydro Series H70 High-Performance CPU Cooler

-Asus Sabertooth X58 w/ Triple DDR3 1866, 7.1 Audio, Gigabit Lan, 1394, PCI-E, Quad CrossFireX / SLI

-Kingston HyperX 6GB PC3-12800 Triple Channel DDR3 Kit (3 x 2GB) w/ Intel XMP

-Asus ENGTX470 GeForce GTX 470 1280MB PCI-E w/ Dual DVI, HDMI

-Asus Xonar DX 7.1 PCI-E Soundcard

-Cooler Master Silent Pro M 850W Modular Power Supply

-LG Super-Multi 22x DVD Writer, SATA, Black (OEM)

-Seagate 1TB Barracuda 7200.12 SATA II w/ 32MB Cache

-Microsoft Windows 7 Professional x64 (64-bit)

Looks good, only things I'd change is replace the Barracuda with a WD Caviar Black or Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB drive, switch from professional to home premium, and switch the GPU to a HD 6870, case is personal preference but the CM690 II cools almost as well as the HAF X, much cheaper, and looks better IMO. Excellent choice on the mobo.

Thanks for the quick replies and suggestions, have some quick questions do you the think the cooling system i chose (corsair h70) will be enough and also what would u recommend for thermal paste, one of my main concern's is keeping it cool.

Also with this build do you think I will be able to run arma2 and how long do you figure this system will last me without upgrading.

The H70 comes with thermal paste pre-applied. It will be more than enough, it's a superb cooler. Yes, Arma II easily on high settings. I'd say you could last maybe 2 years without feeling the need to upgrade one of your core components (CPU, RAM, GPU, mobo)
 
Sound good, also i forgot to ask but would you happend to know when the 570 is out the only place i can find it somewhat close is ncix.

i went with the 580 because it was cheaper

i went with the 580 because it was cheaper

Looks solid. Usually I wouldn't recommend Cooler Master PSUs but the silent Pro range are excellent units
