The 68xx cards typically have an HDMI port, but if for some reason yours doesn't, HDMI and DVI are more or less the same thing. You can get an adapter for less than the price of a combo meal at Taco Bell. :)

...if the card doesn't already have an adapter included. My Asus came with a HDMI to DVI adapter as well as a DVI to D-Sub adapter.

I need the Cat-6 cable because my apartment was configured by a down's baby and the router has to be on the opposite end of the place. I'm going to run this huge ass cable along the ceiling, unless you guys have a better suggestion?

So everything, minus the Mouse/Pad/Keyboard, eeks in at just over $1.5k. However, there's $40 in Mail-In Rebates to be had. If I use all three MIRs, the total comes to $1,491.
 
I think what you're building is pretty similar to what I am on now. I'm pretty sure you're going to be very happy with the investment.

But I'm having some last minute conflict. My computer-knowledgeable friend says this:

i know for a fact that at fry's electronics, a case and 500W power supply costs $100. I myself run a 450Watt and i overclock A LOT, and i know for a fact it uses more power than the setup above, so 750w is just overkill (that right there gives u an extra $30-$40).

I'm not to keen on getting anything at Fry's, but I am curious if I could downgrade my power supply without sacrificing anything?

For example, there's this Antec 650W for a whole $60 less...

Power supply's that come with cases are usually low-quality and cheap.
That Antec is OK, but it is a captive PSU so all the cables are hardwired to it, you'll need to do more cable management. I'd stick with the XFX, though if you really want to save a bit of cash and forfeit the cool green fan then the Antec TruePower is also an excellent PSU. However, the saving this gives is fairly small, and if you want to really cut down the price on the PSU, you should go for the 650W version of the TruePower. This will power your system fine, but Crossfiring two 6870s would push it near it's limits. Remember, just because a PSU says 650W doesn't mean it can give 650W.

Alright, I think I'm gonna ignore my friend about the PSU, but he's still really pushing RAID.

but i highly recommend the raid setup. Steve's pc is identical to mine and I load shit much quicker when we play online games together. Any 2 hard drives with SATA connection will do the trick. You can get two 500gig hard drives and it would give you a total of 1TB of storage.

For the raid setup, all you need is two identical hard drives; you could buy one and just attach an identical one later, but when you do that you will have to format the pc (erase all data) in order to properly set it up.

Read.

RAID has little consumer benefits. I just wouldn't do it for a first build, let alone a gaming first build. Get a fast 1TB HDD now and put it in RAID in the future if you feel speed is an issue (which it shouldn't be)

Also, a RAID setup costs alot more than a single fast Hard Disk.

Of course, ultimately it's your decision, but I wouldn't go for it.
