Copying then pasting stuff from the net into word and having problems

I copied a cover letter from the net pasted it into Word. Now when I write and press return the lines are really far apart. how do I adjust my settings so everything is normal?

make a right-click on your document and select Paragraph, then modify your Line spacing.

A general tip; if you are copying text from one type of document to another and only want the simple text, copy the text, paste into Notepad, copy the text in Notepad and paste into the final application.

Notepad will remove any complicating formatting and things like images. You may need to tidy up the text if you are copying from a complicated web page with frames etc.

You can do the same thing in word by rather than using "Ctrl+V" or "Paste". Select paste from the menu and choose "Paste Special" and "Unformatted Text". This will print just the plain text.
