correct me if i'm wrong but all i need to know about ram for macs is if it's either ddr2 or ddr3? mac ram is expensive.

Depends on what macbook you have.

All the newer models use DDR3.

Google you model. Also, look on newegg.com for ram. It doesnt have to be specifically for mac, as long as its the same speed.

Right. All new models use DDR3. 2 to 5 years older models use ddr2. I suggest Kingston or Simple Technology.

not mine. my cousin just bought a new mac.

they wanted him to pay a large amount for "mac ram." but there are sales for laptop ddr3 ram and i'm pretty sure they'll work.

dznutz, apple ram is exorbitant. Any third party will do and works as better as the Apple Ram.

Has to be expensive SODIMMs, though, unless you have a Mac Pro.
