Would you be willing to wait for sandy bridge, Intel's new processors? They come out in January, and hopefully will give you more bang for your buck than anything on offer now. However, if you want the build now, here goes nothing:

I would pick another case. The Storm Scout. It looks ok, but cable management really sucks big time. For the same price right now the Tempest EVO is alot better case.

I'm trying to fit an i5-760 into his $900CN budget. If I can't, then AM3 it'll have to be

Why are you telling me?
I'll be using Windows 7, and yes I'm willing to wait for the release of sandy bridge. I'm willing to push the budget to 1k if it means adding an i7 processor to my build.
edit: Also, I can also probably pick up some parts from NCIX if they have them to reduce the cost of shipping and all that.

Good idea. Apparently a $200 sandy bridge CPU will give roughly the performance of a $300 LGA1366 (at stock I assume)

You can, but it is what it is. Not a good cable management case. Cheap case painted black with a fancy front and top snapped on it. The RC 692 and 690 II are cheaper and better cases.
