What case to get? Coolmaster HAF-X or NZXT Phantom?

The HAF-X is technically the better case, but the Phantom can be had for $60 cheaper and isn't very far behind it in functionality. Its cable management is arguably even better.

I don't think you'll have any issues upgrading to anything with the Phantom, so if you like it better, then I say grab it and put the extra dough into something else. :)

Well I like the NZXT case better, but hate the side window.

For what the HAF X cost I would go with the Lian Li A70 or B70 or the Silverstone
Raven RVO2-BW or RVO2B-EW

^ only if he's in Canada :/

Really good price though. Maybe NCIX US has it...

edit: nope, it's nearly $170 there before shipping :(

Ah, alright then. :good:

For that price, I would definitely grab the phantom. That's significantly cheaper than even its US price, which hovers around ~$140 plus shipping.

I'd go with the Coolermaster HAF 932 personally.. It is a great price for a case with so many great features. 4 front usb/firewire/mic/headphone ins, plenty of cable management and air going through, wheels, easy access drives, liquid cooling options, top or bottom mount for power supply, etc. I scored mine for $130, but i'm sure you'll see an even better price before New Years. Nothing wrong with the HAF-X though, but the 932 won me over(I was between the Lian Li pc-p80 and Corsair Obsidian 700d before choosing it) in the end.

what is mail-in rabate?

A mail in rebate is where you par a certain price, and then mail off some form of verification that you bought it. Once you do that, they send you money. Sometimes it takes a while, though.

For example, a $100 part with a $25 MIR means you par $100 when you buy it, then mail off a card or form or something. After it gets processed, you'll be paid $25 somehow.

And why are they doing this? Why can't they just sell the product for the price incl. mail-in rebate?

I guess it's because not everyone actually does the MIR thing, so it doesn't cost them as much.

edit: V that makes more sense

From ontario I am (:

So everyone is saying to go with the phantom?
But the usb 3.0 option on the haf x (how its right in from of you, the top of the case) looks like it would help so much.

I have my case to the left of me under a desk. Well, half of it is. The desk is tall so a full tower case would fit, its just that the port at the back of the case I pritty much NEVER use unless I so badly need to. And usb 3 looks like it could come in handy. And having something like that at the back seems like a real pain in the ass.

90$ though seems like a reallllllyyy good deal ... (:
