compare PC graphics to ps3/xbox 360

How would you compare your graphics on your pc to the consoles ps3/xbox 360 im running the 9800gt i would say there pretty much similar.
 
I asked this question a long long time ago elsewhere,and they said something along the lines of the 360 uses graphics similar to an x1950xt and the PS3 uses the similar architecture to a 7800GTX, the developers tweak it so then it could run on the optimal performance of the console. Unlike PC's, they have to optimize it for millions of different setups.

Imo...Both the PS3 & Xbox 360s graphics are very similar looking...

Not anywhere near comparable to modern pc graphics though because we have DX10,DX11...anti aliasing ,Full 1080p support etc. (Not wanting to start an argument here pls) :)

by todays standards yes,They are not really comparable...but what you have to remember is the PS3 is getting on 5yrs old now,and same with the xbox been 6 yrs since release:eek,Back in the day they were probably very impressive.

I have a 360 myself,Some games actually look quite good,But others :D

yeh very true and the other thing is very Contently updating are parts on the pc but with the consoles its a diffrence story i brought the 360 the first day it came out played it for a week got bored sold it lol i like the idea off a pc having better graphics and can do much much more you :)
 
Thats the only thing :/,Constant expenses if you want to keep up to date and play games at the highest settings.

Im the same with the Xbox,i only play it maybe 1 or two times a fortnight :D

yeh i might be updating my graphics card soon or i mite stick with it and get a hdmi or dvi screen what you running ? yeh thats how i was so i just sold it.
 
Id upgrade your Graphics card,The 9800GT is quite dated now. :/

Im running DVI cable :)

yeh i think it is im properly going to go with ati but the 9800gt for me is still running pretty strong there aint much difference between dvi and hdmi ? how much do you think i would get for the 9800gt

Well theyre going for around £70 online such as Ebay etc...but they are all overpriced,I certianly would not pay that much for one because its old...more like about £25-30 is mroe reasonable.
 
i would have to say that hdmi is better than dvi. seems to me that with hdmi, you get better color and more sharpness. plus if anyone has noticed before, when using dvi on a 1080p monitor, the resolution will say 1920x1080, as to when using hdmi, it will say 1080p, and you will be able to see the colors be more vibrant and what not. however, i have an eye for detail, maybe more so than the averageperson so in my case the difference between the 2 are relavant, compared to someone who may not be as sensitive to this, it will be irrelavant

Uh, isn't 1920x1080 1080p? Hence where the 1080 comes from? That was always my understanding of it anyway. Also, from what I've heard the difference between the cables is negligible. If you can see a definite difference between the cables then you either have a bad cable or you are imagining the difference. You'd be surprised by the power of your own mind haha. If you think HDMI is better, chances are you'll think it looks better too.
