what should i upgrade

alright lets restart here, i have bios v1.6 (newest)
acc right now is set to auto
nothing has changed its still a dual core
what is all this hyper enbles stuff?
should i try 1.5 or do i need a voltage change?

I saw something on 'hyper' as well but I can't remember if it said enable or not. I think so. I don't know what harm it could have. After 'auto' you could try a cpu voltage bump(1 increment), and if that doesnt work, add to that a nb bump. increment). You could then repeat that(can't say how much tho).
There's also the 1 core at a time method if you wind up not getting past the 2 cores.

ill try volts increase i guess the hyper thing is for nvidia chipsets
also could you explain the 1 core at a time method plz
wish me luck

edit: 1 v bump didnt do anything im idle at 51c so i try another bump?

There's a pic of it in Stanglehold's bios link ^. Check your bios layout.
I think there's a way to check for core 0-1-2-3-4...individually.
Very good luck!

Did you try the 1.5 version? That's where I saw success in other forum posts.

If you've exhausted all the options, at least you could use the 1.6 and get an am3 cpu that you could take with you later on. And a 2gb dimm. That would make a big difference.

got any good deals on a am3?

There aren't any black edition Athlon II's...only Phenom II's. Phenom II x3's are rare since they aren't produced anymore...BE models are even more so. Plus, they're all C2.

There is a non-BE Phenom II x4 (C3) for $125, though:

And a C2 AM2+ model, same clock speed, for $110:

Cheapest BE quad on the egg is $149:

The black would overclock easier and probly more, if that's the reason for wanting black.
Can't say which A or P non-blacks oc the easiest or best, but some oc pretty well.

What's your ram configuration right now? # of sticks etc?

i have 3 512mb for a total of 1.5gb, i have fours slots the clock speed is the lowest like 633 or something. i plan on buying this 2gb kit

and this cpu i mean its a triple and it could unlock to a quad and it has a fast clock then the one i have now so i think it will be alot better.

if you read the feedback alot of people are unlocking stable cores idk if thats good or not?

I was wondering what happened to the Phenom II Triple Core processors. They were such good processors for an excellent price.

Some of the Athlon II Quad-Cores are good processors for a great price now. I know the Athlon II 640 Quad-Cores have C3 stepping.

^ Yep, they're great CPU's for the price.

You can tell the stwpping by the model name. C2 ends in "GIBOX", C3 ends in "GMBOX".
OEM versions without the packaging and all that drop the "BOX" part.

It supports 1066 but its $15-20 more.

I've owned the 440 which is essentially the same as that one. Good cpu. It's fast and can oc altho I didn't. I don't play intensive games but I can say I didn't outrun it with some heavy multitasking. I couldn't say if your games or what games need 4 cores. If it unlocks that would be a good thing!
