Memory problem after BIOS upgrade

Hi All,
I've upgraded my mobo BIOS, and everything went just fine, except one thing: my memory modules do not work anymore at settings, how they used to work before. And, it's not even starting now at these settings (and I have to reset settings to default with a jumper). Though, it starts at "auto".

More details here:
MB: MSI 890GXM-G65
old BIOS: v.1.6
new BIOS: v.1.8
RAM: DDR3 1600, Corsair CMX4GX3M2A1600C7 (2x2GB)
Settings, as printed on a module tag: 7-8-7-20.
These settings worked perfect before the bios upgrade. Now, it will only work at "auto" (which results in 9-11-11-29), while still at 1600.

I'm having such problem for a first time ever.. Any comments?

Yes. And I did that. Sorry, if it was not clear from my previous post.

In case I DON'T set timings manually (which means, they are set at "auto"), everything works (at 9-11-11-29).

In case I DO set timings manually to 7-8-7-20 (as recommended at the module tag and at the Corsair website), the computer wouldn't start at all (until I reset BIOS with a jumper).

The strange thing is: IT DID work with timings 7-8-7-20 (which were set up manually, of course) before the BIOS upgrade.

Was there any particular reason why you upgraded the bios? Were you having an issue with the motherboard that the upgrade would have fixed?

No, there wasn't any particular reason. I just was having some extra time, and I looked through the whole thing and installed some new drivers (video, usb-3, ethernet..), and bios. Besides, I was going to upgrade a CPU (to 6-core one), so I wanted to have the latest bios available.

What voltage are they running at. Default suppost to be 1.65

Yes, the voltage is set to little bit higher then that, 1.68V. And this is same way it was before the bios upgrade. Sorry I didn't mention that at once..

I still didn't check timings in between, like 8-8-8-24 eg. I'm going to do this soon (like in an hour), and I'll post a result here.
 
Well, I did check it at timings 8-8-8-24, and it worked. Which is good.
But, when I tried 7-8-8-23 - it failed again..

It looks like the 8-8-8-24 is kinda a low limit for timings (now). But I'm still wondering - why I was able to run it at 7-8-7-20 before the BIOS upgrade? What has been changed? some of default (I mean "auto") settings for memory? I probably could find it out if I go back to old bios version (1.6), then write down ALL the timings (not just those 4), then compare them to those I have now (with 1.8). But I'm not sure if it is worth that..
 
In some cases there are better bios's for overclocking... your new bios could be hindering you. Also, if your running ram voltage out of specification it can cause instability.
 
I'd recommend clearing the CMOS of your settings after flashing it, it just helps to start everything fresh and clear up anything (memory issues especially)
