A friend wants to trade his Asus 5870 for my GTX 295. I've seen it in action and it works flawlessly. Should I do it?

I would stay with what you have unless you really want DX11.

agreed,the gtx295 pulls ahead of the 5870 in performance.like salvage said, the only benefit of getting the 5870 is DX11 and IMO not worth it over the gtx295.

the gtx295 is dx10 and runs hot 5-20% faster than the 5870, 5870 plays all games under dx11 runs cool and uses a little less power then the gtx295...
if i never had a gpu and both of the where in my price range i would choose the 5870 over it anyday.
