Help Building A Gaming Computer

Hi Guys well first of all My name is Paul,I am from California, and I am really excited to be joining your community, so here is where I stand....

My old computer (Not worth mentioning LoL) is just not doing it for me. I had build computers on the past but I stop for a while. After my tax returns I am looking to build me a Monster Gaming Desktop that can take everything I put in front of it. I use my computer a lot its on almost 24/7 with a lot of traffic passing through,and a few TB used already

I play a lot of games:FFIV,WOW,COV,SC2 and to be honest I am tired of playing on the lowest resolution :( ........ PLEASE help me out!!!

$2000 is what I have to work with and I had being looking around a little and this is what I am thinking on buying

Feel Free to Make any suggestions on anything that may not be compatible or would save me some money and its around the same performance.

Welcome to CF!

If you can wait a bit longer, it would be better to build off Intel's Sandy Bridge. The fixed motherboards hopefully will be back soon. I have no idea on the date. I'm sure someone here does.

If you want to build off the 950, I have a few changes.

I see no need to get 12 gb of ram so here is 6gb at 1600 with cas 7 and heat spreaders

I don't really trust the hitachi drives so I would go with 2 1tb Samsung Spinpoint F3. If you really want 2 tb on one drive I would go with one of the WD caviar blacks.
 
Yeah 12gb is a little much unless you were doing some mad 3d rendering and HD video editing. 6gb should be more than enough for a gaming PC.
 
Sandy Bridge is already out but there were a few problems with the motherboards so they were recalled.

If you can wait for the motherboards to be fixed, that would be the route to take. They perform quite a bit better than the first gen i series. (not like the first gen's were poor performers at all)
 
Ok Ok I read the article I will wait a little lol

Now everything else, What do you guys think, Good, Alrite, Decent, Not worth buying( thinking about price as well) If you guys have anything That you think its better let me I will be more than happy to take a look into it

Also I was looking in to AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition Thuban 3.2 GHz and start building from there What are your thoughts (both overclock to 4.0ghz)

Now that you are going to wait till Sandy Bridge is back up and running you need to get memory that will work in dual channel. For a gaming machine you really only need 4gb but since you originally wanted 12gb I threw a 8gb kit in.

the 1090T will be beat by the new 1155 socket cpus. I'm guessing that you are going to choose either the 2500k or the 2600k. Either of which are great performers.

You mentioned liquid cooling. Did you mean a custom loop or a system like the H70? The 1155 cpu's are great overclockers. Even on air they hit over 4GHz easy.
