CrossFireX Setup

I am looking to build my own computer and I am wanting to do CrossFire with the two vid cards I have. Yes everything is compatible, so please don't respond with those questions. I am wondering how i go about setting up my vid cards. Any help? Thanks.

Install both cards. Make sure to connect the PCIe power connectors. Put the Crossfire bridge on. Hook monitor onto the main card. Boot up and make sure Crossfire is enabled in CCC.

Stick them in their slots and attach the CrossFire bridge. Then install the video driver and you're done. Just be sure to uninstall the previous driver first.

And I think you need to install CCC to get crossfire to work right, so go with a full package.

To not make multiple threads dealing with the same issue, if I run XFire on two cards with dual monitors, do I plug one monitor to main card and second monitor to secondary card or is it both monitors to the main card?

Unless they changed something, you can't dual monitor when running Crossfire or SLI.

I know they have on nVidia's side, and I'm pretty sure they have for ATI/AMD as well. Since you need SLI to run nVidia Surround and a lot of the 5XXX series only had 3 outputs per card, you would physically need another card to run all the outputs on more than 3 displays.
