Hey guys,

From what i've read this was released by nvidia and it let Physx work on ATI cards, then nvidia pulled it, then re-released it when people started complaining.

Anyway when i try to install it i get an error message saying the installer cannot locate any drivers that are compatible with my current hardware setup...

Anyway does anyone know where i can download the copy of this forceware that works on ATI cards?

I've tried the beta from 3 different download sites, 2 of them said it's the version that works, so idk whats going on

Thats not PhysX running on a ATI card. Its drivers that let you run a ATI and Nvidia card together. The PhysX is running on the Nvidia card. Later drivers would disable PhysX if they detected a ATI card.

Ahh ok, i thought it sort of emulated a physx compatible card... dang, bout time i ditched this ati and went nvidia

I just bought a 6970 card I wonder if its worth keeping my GTX 285 card in my machine for Physx :P it seems rather overkill though as that card is pretty high end to just do Physx. Not to mention the extra noise and power comsumption.

nah sell the gtx 285 and buy a secondhand 9800gtx, you will use less power and have a little spare change.

im guessing that a 6970 and a gtx 285 would need a fairly powerfull psu

Why? For Phsyx? Really not worth picking an nVidia card just for that sole purpose.

Well partially because this isn't the first game i've come across with physX and mainly because i'm about ready to update my pc and nvidia has the edge on the top end cards atm

Well I agree that it's a plus, but I think it's a very small one. The only area nVidia truly trumps AMD in at the moment is with the GTX580, anything less can be matched by an AMD card. There's also the 5970 to consider, which is undisputed champion for a single PCB right now. I know it's kind of cheating, but still. Don't rule out AMD for no reason, they offer great competition and this isn't one of the generations where they're lacking.
