I got a free computer. No OS, and I'd like to know what I should put on it. Do you think 64-Bit Windows 7 will work on a computer with these specs?

If you think I should just go ahead and put on XP SP3, then I can do that now. I just want to know if it is worth ordering Windows 7.

Thanks.

Yeah, I have been getting used to Windows 7 and I was hoping I could... but didn't want to risk it. I guess trusty XP will do. Thanks for the advice.

Win 7 would be the better option. The system will easily handle it, you just won't be able to take advantage of Aero because of that onboard Intel GPU. XP would work, but it is less secure than 7 and it is far less efficient and less user friendly than Win7 as well

Just go Windows 7. I don't understand why people are still putting XP on machines. It's less stable and a lot less user friendly compared to windows 7.
