What's the difference? (Gaming Computer)

I'm just a normal guy who enjoys playing games, I'm no expert or big up on computers, so sorry for my dumbfoundedness.

What's the difference? Also for my usage which is better?

As you will see, the AMD is £500 cheaper. I only want to watch movies, listen to music and play Bad Company 2, and BattleField 3 (when it's out)

I currently have a Core 2 Duo with a 9600 GT Nvidia card. It plays Bad Company 2 in Medium settings really good. But I just think it's time for a upgrade so I can play it smoothly without lag.

ok, the irule does have a bad ass processor simple because it's an i7 and the worlds fastest cpu of the moment, which is probably why it's so expensive both clock at around the same speed and have 4 cores, though i'm going to try not to go into technical details, basically 4 cpu's in 1

irule has 6 gigs of ddr3 ram at 1333mhz where revolution only has 4 gigs, 1333mhz

there isn't much hard drive difference, irule has 2 terabyte where revolution has 1, FYI 1 terabyte is 100 gigabytes of memory, more than enough.

the cases are almost exactly the same

the optical drives are the same except irule has blue ray.

irules geforce ftx 580 video card:
2004 memory clock rate mhz
standard memory is 1536 mb GDDR5
memory interface width is 384 bit

revolutions ati radeon 5779:
memory clock speed 4800 mhz
1024 MB GDDR6
128 bit memory interface

both pc's have gaming power supplies, irule 750w and revolution at 500w but silent modular

i'm not going to go too deep into the motherboard specs. but irule has 6 ram slots and can hold up to 24GB in ram, the cpu socket type is 1366, thats how many pins the processor has that go into the motherboard. 6 usb ports, 6 sata ports(hard drive, optical drive ect.)

and the revolution has cpu sopport, chipset amd 890gx. 7.1 hd audio, 1 firewire port. 1 dvi port, 1 hdmi port, 4 usb 2.0/1.1 ports and 2 usb 3.0/2.0 ports, 6 audio jacks, gigabyte land port aka fast as hell wired internet. socket type am3, 6 sata ports. 5 pci ports. 4 ram slots, can hold up too 16 gigs of ram.

there you have it, i hope this cleared some things up i explained the best i can and it took a while to compare and type up. personally i would get the revolution. but thats just me.

So in other words, the revolution is suitable for my needs and gaming needs? BC2, BF3, etc?
 
First of all the major price difference is not because of the CPUs there is a small price difference between the CPU the price difference is because of the GPUs.
The GTX 580 is one of the most expensive GPUs out there while 5770 is just a mainstream GPU while the GTX 580 is for the gaming enthusiast.
Besides the novatech guys are using their company made PSU not a branded PSU so I am assuming it would be of a pretty crappy quality and also their HDD brand is not mentioned so that also they will be using an HDD of Crappy quality.
You can build a way better PC in that budget if you DIY.
Build your own PC it would be a good experience and also you can put in quality stuff for the same budget and have them look like you want.

I wouldn't mind building my own, but I would need a head start. I'd need to know everything I need for a decent build.

Also do I need to install the BIOS myself? As I said before, I don't know the insides of a computer. So if someone would like to assist me on scan.co.uk and build a basket, then I guess I can go ahead a buy it. Try to build it.. then success! :good:
 
The bios comes pre-installed on the motherboard, that way you can use it as a troubleshooter while you build the rest of the rig.

I can't wait to build my own rig, but with all of the underway time I currently have, and a baby on the way, there's just no way of doing it.

Sucks.

I hate to bump this, but I'm just wondering if someone could help me do a build for £650.00 & £1000.00 - Without operating system. Thanks. Just so I can compare both, and see what will suit my needs best.

Oh sorry got busy and didnt post a build yourself config.
Actually I wont be able to post up a suitable config since I have been out of touch lately and also dont know any good UK computer peripheral shops.
But I am sure someone will soon come and help you

No 2nd highest number of members are british and 3rd are australian.

I can tell you the basic layout of how the config would go.
Core i5 2500k or i7 2600k
Corresponding Motherboard with USB 3.0 and SATA II
an ATI HD 6970
a 750W PSU from Corsair,Antec,Seasonic,PC power and cooling,thermaltake,coolermaster.
A full ATX case preferably CoolerMaster HAF 932(cheap and good)
4 GB or 8GBs of RAM
Thats all you need.
