I did a search online and found that booting in safe mode works, but that is crap, I shouldn't have to boot to safe mode. Any suggestion on how I can find out what is going on?

Someone suggested a virus, but I went through a process of running several programs and noting showed up. Malwarebytes, AVG, spybot.........I don't think it is a virus, I think my OS is using the program. Any advice?

Would help to know what folder we are talking about...

A folder I created on my desktop. It is a folder within a folder, and I created both folders to store my files in. This folder currently sits empty, non of the folders in my folder will delete.

If you are sure that no software needs any files in this folder then Unlocker (free) should let you delete it.

It's been a long time since I installed it but I believe you just tick the option to add it to the right click Context Menu. Once installed, right click on the folder and select Unlocker then it will give you some info and choices.
Select to delete the folder and this will usually be done at the next boot.

Handy little tool to have :good: but be sure you don't need what you are deleting!

Thanks. At first my anti-virus said the program was bad, but after some research I found that a lot of anti-virus programs will label it as bad when it is not. Worked great.

Sorry for the scare, I am surprised that AVs are still flagging it  I would have thought it was on all the whitelists by now.
Unlocker is quite well known and well respected but I can understand that AVs with some form of HIPS might be wary of it just because of it's use, to unlock things that are locked.

Glad it worked for you :)
