Netbooks

I was thinking about getting a netbook but have a question.
Since there is no hard drive, what happens if it gets messed up and needs to be re-formatted?

Netbooks have hard drives, they don't have CD-ROM drives. There is a recovery partition on the hard drive that you boot to to restore the os.

Is that like 'System Restore'?
I have had computers that I have had to fully re-format because system restore didn't work when it is really bad.
Sorry, I didn't mean no hard drive, I meant CD. Wasn't thinking.

System restore is a windows feature where system recovery is a special partition on the hard drive that is totally independent of the operating system.

And what it does is you boot to it (special F key is pressed on boot) and it'll open an auxiliary installation and allow you to restore the PC to factory defaults.

I have a cd/dvd but not for burning on my netbook Asus Eee. I need it for installing programs i have and or utility's, and possible recovery or new installation. Cheap enough. It did not have one.

lol I rip all my CDs to ISO images anyway so all I have to do is put them in a shared folder and mount them, as I never did like CDs :D
