ATI HD 5770 and gaming

It also depends on your other system specs, but the 5770 should be enough.

Dont expect everything to be at highest settings,To be honest GTA IV for pc is a bit of a Hit and miss,On some systems it works nicely and on others runs like sh*t. :/

Do you already have the card?...if you can and your budget allows why not get something better?

Ah you want my system specs, here they are:

I7 2600 3.4GHz
6GB DDR3 1333MHz RAM
ATI HD 5770 1GB
1.5TB RAID 0 'Stripe'
THX 7.1 Sound Card

It's a PC from Dell, bought it very cheap, so, can't complain.

So watcha think? Will it play it on full settings?

It will be able to play it on very high settings, but probably not full because GTA is coded so badly and it limits you based on video memory. Either way, it will play it smooth as you like and will look very good doing it

He would be able to play it on high settings until AA and AF are turned off

there is no aa on GTA4, and I played it on my 5770 when I still had it, highest settings it would allow me and was getting constant 85+ fps, so would have knocked to highest had it allowed me. It isn't that the card isn't able to performance wise, it is that the game won't allow him

I get 59fps for GTA IV on my GTX 275 which is a better card than the 5770.
I agree the game is poorly coded.I have experience many glitches. One of them is the screen starts to shake vigourously.Even though there are fixes for that but more like instructions not patches.
