USB ports help

Hello guys, i need help with my usb ports.

Theres some that work fine and others that dont its certain things that dont work in the slots.

like mouse and keyboard work fine in the slots but if i use something like an external hard drive, wired controller or usb wireless internet adapter the drivers dont install properly.

if i plug those in the blue usb slots they work, anyone know the problem ?

The is the motherboard http://www.ebuyer.com/product/197748

The spec shows 14 USB ports in two groups. One group is the back panel and presumably the other group would be on the front panel of the PC if anywhere. I looked at the manual but it's not clear if they are set separately in the BIOS. You can set the speed to 12 or 480Mbps. Check in the BIOS/Advanced section.

Which ports don't work well? "Blue" is not very helpful! Front, back, ports next to Ethernet.....

There's 10, actually. 6 on the I/O, and another 4 midboard that can support 8. Thats your 2 groups. The blue on mine are 3.0, but it appears they used the same colored ports on both models.

I saw that the USB3 version has those ports next to the Ethernet. Are there separate settings in the BIOS for them? Although I suggested to xMKproductions to check in the BIOS I suspected that the standard board would only have one setting for the two groups of USB ports. If the blue ports xMKproductions is referring to are those two (1 & 2), one wonders what is different on the MB compared to the nearby ports 3 & 4.

The blue ones seem below the Ethernet on both models, but:
The bios for the 3.0 version=
Advanced> OB Dev. Config. > USB 3.0-Enable/Disable
Advanced> USB Config. >
Legacy support
USB 2.0 mode > FullSpeed/HiSpeed (would full speed be max?)
BIOS EHCI Hand Off > Enable/Disble

Possibly Disable EHCI to see if that resolves it.
I'm wondering if the TS has the 3.0 but linked the other. 3.0 needs the NEC software. You can zoom just south of the I/O and see that one has the chip and the other doesn't.

Which ones are they!!!! A location, not Red, Yellow or Turquoise!

On the rear you have 5&6, probably at the top, 3&4 next to the Firewire and 1&2 next to Ethernet. Any others such as at front?

There's 2 that are closer to the blue usb sockets that dont work and sometimes the ones further away from the blue sockets dont work but one of them is working with my ipod but doesn't work with the wireless usb adapter or Ps3 wired controller

The blue sockets are USB 3.0 sockets.
Not on the model linked to (see earlier comments about that). They are 3.0 on the /USB3 board.

Edit: While the blue should indicate USB 3.0, with two versions of the board who knows. The only way to be sure is to look in the BIOS, Device Manager or the inside of the ports.

If it doesn't have the chip, it isn't 3.0. Maybe they sent him a 3.0 board, but with that many ports not working, sounds more like a software/driver issue.

Do you have a device that will work on all ports??

Way back I said you should check the BIOS settings for the USB. There's been no comment back on that. Most ports on that MB are 2.0/1.1. For all we know they may be set on 1.1 (although not likely). Your keyboard and mouse would be tolerable on 1.1 but nothing else would. Check!!!
