Asus mobo: worth the rma?

Awhile back, I found out one or more components in my system isn't responding. I described my situation and was suggested that my motherboard failed. So i've been trying to get Asus to rma my motherboard, and so far I haven't gotten through. Computer building for me has proved difficult, time consuming, expensive, and darn near impossible so far.

I've been trying to get this computer set up for almost a year now, and really nothing is going as planned, and I still don't even know for sure what needs replacing, i'm just shooting in the dark. I'm beyond frustrated/angry and overshot my deadline to have this build done by a very ridiculous margin. It's more or less 1200 dollars worth of garbage in my living room that is useless to me at the moment. I don't really have much left after saving up for everything. Should I:

1) rma mobo(asus crosshair iv formula)
2) buy new mobo
3) wait for bulldozer and get cpu+mobo with am3+
4) take it to a shop
5) get rid of everything and start over

Could find one of these Rev. 3.1 AM3+ socket Gigabyte boards. Plus they wil run Bulldozer fine.

you cant really say that when all boards have there days,not just crosshair.IMO i think asus crosshair is one of the best mobos out there.them boards has sooo much stuff pack on them its ridiculous, way more stuff than the average board.

OP, ill just wait till BD comes out in a month or two than upgrade.

I can say that if I want to. I've had and installed them on builds and they (are) over priced and (problematic). My opinion is based on using them!
 
SH, can you report on any specific problems? The only one i've had so far is a noobish build mistake, I have yet to play around with most of the systems features. What do you like and dislike? I just want to know what to be ready to expect. Thanks again for all replies.
 
First one would not save bios changes, RMA still would not save voltage settings. Second one LAN port didnt work, RMA and that one still works I guess, the guy still has it and has not complained. Third one went dead in about 6 months, still in the box in basement lol. I dont buy crosshair boards anymore.

But they do have bios options out of the wazoo, kinda like the older DFI boards.
 
I would suggest go for the Mobo+CPU combo.

Having new and used parts together are not as good as both new especially Mobo and CPU are both critical and combo deal most of time comes with the best match CPU for the right Mobo and at the best price.
