Hello everyone and thanks for reading.
I can't reboot my brother's computer to xp,hes computer doesn't seems to read the disk for some reason..
The disk is working,I checked it on my computer as well.

Now the weird thing is that his computer does read disks I checked that as well..I really have no Idea whats the problem.
Btw when hes computer is starting and goes into the desktop it does read the disk but there is no option to reboot the computer when I restart hes computer.

I know its weird, and I'm really lost here.Could anyone give me an advice on what I should do in order to make it work?

Nvm I did what u said and formated my computer,However when I restart my computer I get the following error message: Error loading operating system ..what should I do now?

I'm not sure what you are trying to do here. By "desktop" are you talking about the Windows desktop? The last part makes no sense. When you restart his computer that is the same as rebooting. A reboot is when the PC is running and you force the PC to restart (either by using the Start/Turn off Computer option in Windows or doing a reset with one of the PC case buttons).

Your last comment was somewhat worrying. You said you formatted the PC. Is that true and why?

I'm sorry for the missundersting,it seems I didn't explain myself very well..
The correct title should be " Need Help with formating" not rebooting.

let me correct my post :

anyway,I formated the computer, however when the computer restarted i get the message : Error loading opearting system.

I think I really ****ed up something..I'm really confused

Ok now I really ****ed up.I tried to format my computer again and chaged a few setting on boot at bios...now when I try to turn on my computer its stuck on my motherboard page...I can click del to go into Bios however it only check some setting and won't even get into Bios....... :[ I feel so retarted....

Formatting removes all information on a drive. If you just formatted the C: drive you have no OS. Why are you trying to format? Are you trying to install XP?

I mention in passing there have been a few threads lately where the posters have been trying to install bootleg copies of XP which have failed, presumably due to corrupt rips.

yes I want XP on my brother computer,Maybe the disk is corrupted...however now I really ****ed the computer and have no clue on what I should do next :[

If you are stuck at the MB screen hit Esc or Enter and it should continue.

Go back into the BIOS and make sure the CD/DVD drive is before the HDD in the boot list. The Windows setup should start on boot.

tried clickling enter and esc.but the computer is simply stuck on the motherboard starting page..As I said I can click del and then a black screen show up and scanning my devices(Thats usuall before Bios show up),however after it done scanning however it simply stuck again..

You are getting deeper and deeper into trouble. If you cannot remember the changes you made to the BIOS(?) and you cannot get back into the BIOS, the only option may be to reset the BIOS. The downside of doing that is that when you get back into the BIOS you have to re-enter all the BIOS settings. If it's your brother's PC you probably have no idea how it was set up.

To reset the BIOS to factory setting, turn off the PC and disconnect the power cord. Press the On button briefly to discharge as much residual power as possible. Wait 20 secs. Discharge any static on yourself by touching the metalwork of the case.
Either:
Remove CMOS battery on the MB, wait a few seconds and re-insert
or
Move the Clear jumper on the MB to the Clear position, wait a few seconds and move back to original position.

I suggest before doing that, wait to see if anyone else in the forum has ideas as to how you can re-access the BIOS without resetting.

Just try resetting the bios by removing the cmos battery or moving the jumper if it has one.

After you formatted the hard drive did you actually install windows or did you stop the installation?

If you don't know what you are doing, have someone with computer knowledge to help you.

K guys tnx for the help everyone,I'm taking the computer to my friend tomorrow..It seems I really ****ed up the settings on Bios. However I have one last question:Could it be that I destroyed permantly some parts of my computer because of the changed I made on Bios or from the corrupted format I did?Is it normal that the computer will be stuck after you change settings on Bios? Thanks for the help everyone!
