KDE or Gnome?

So I want to know what you guys prefer. The only KDE shell I have ever used was for Kubuntu but I was not very impressed. It barely would run on the netbook listed in my specs and my main machine would load funny every time.

Not to mention it seems like the package choice for gnome is far better and even better quality software. The only thing I like about KDE is......... well its pretty.

I am going with gnome.

A lot of people have manually updated to gnome 3 and it seems like from what I have read in blogs they either love it or hate it.
