I would strongly recomend a FULL Tower.
I would really advice against the trifire.
But anyways you would need a 1000+W PSU and Aasti has listed some good ones below. There is not that much of a choice when it comes to such Huge Wattage PSUs.But the PSUs given below are all the choices you need because all of them are really good units.

My computer is seriously underperforming. I am willing to pay money to have someone optimize it. I am getting fps in the teens at times with crysis, not even maxed out.... Rediculous considering the horsepower already on this pc.... i cant figure out which of my components is the weak link.. i am thinking the ram and cpu. Im so fed up with troubleshooting i am going to potentially return this pc for a store credit and get 2 gtx 580 and Intel Core i7 Extreme 990x, 3.46GHz (Six Core) 12000K

16gb ram?! do you ever even use a quarter of that?

but anyways....First I will state I am not an expert on VGAs but ONE 6950 should be good enough to play crysis with a decent FPS. Considering you have TWO and are having low FPS, I dont think throwing another graphic card at the problem will fix the issues you are having.

If all in your power fails to solve the problem, try a fresh reformat/OS install, new drivers for everything and dont unlock just yet.

Have you done a futuremark benchmark??

That is no reason to buy something ridiculously useless like a 1000 bucks CPU for gaming.
First of all,I have never come across a x64 game and I am assuming Crysis is also a 32 bit game which cannot access more than 4GB of RAM(Correct me if I am wrong) so no problems with RAM there. And there is no problem with a DDR3-1333MHz.By no means it is low.

Then come your CPU,your CPU is an awesome chip and will handle any game without a sweat.

Then comes your GPU.A 6950 is a great card and should be able to run crysis at max settings, with a decent FPS.And apart from that you have two of those which will handle Crysis without a sweat.I think there is a problem with your drivers. Also what temps are you getting while running Crysis. For both CPU and GPU,post it over here.

Also I would recomend a fresh install of windows and all the drivers and then try playing it.

Are you talking about Crysis 2 or Crysis.Because Crysis 2 is ported game so may have some coding issues, not sure whether this kind of an issue would come under it or not.

Also do a malware scan, virus scan.
And also check your GPU and CPU usage while playing crysis and post back.I strongly recomend doing all of the above before buying anything. As it is your PC is amazing. There is a problem with its maintenance, not with the PC.

Thank you very much guys. seriously you guys are more helpful than the tech support at my computer company. I figured this is already alot of firepower. CPU temps under load average around 29.4 C. GPU temps get upto around 60-63 C. Stupid crysis will only play in 32bit thru steam. Im gonna post very detailed Desktop screenshots of GPUZ, Afterburner, AMD overdrive. Lol id be willing to have one of you connect to my pc remotely so you can take a look or something. I have tried fresh install of windows, and 11.3 drivers. Malwarebytes detects no malicious software. It should also be noted that i have never reformated my hard drive. Should this be done? I tried defragmenting because 100gb worth of files were fragmented. All defragmented now. Still garbage performance... Mhir, ktec and russ, can you guys friend list me? You guys definitely know your stuff, if someone can help me get the performance out of my pc that i expect, I can make a donation via paypal or something. Thanks guys

maybe its some deep level setting in Crysis...sort of like the console settings in Counter-Strike(lol old I know)...where you can change settings that you can't access in the game settings menu. For example "fps_max #"

We do not help people for money,we do it because we like doing it.:P

Are those GPU temps on full load??Or only the load of crysis.

CPU temps are fine.

Post a screenshot of CPUid Hardware Monitor.Completely Extended.
Also post a screen shot of GPU-z,CPU-z.Under Full load.
Have you connected the crossfire bridge?

Download the drivers from here

First of all we need to figure out whether its a hardware failure or the software failure.I am placing my bets on software but anything could be possible.
Also what about other games, have you played any other high end games like BFBC2 or COD Black Ops etc.If yes what are their result.

Try running apps like Furmark and check the FPS you are getting and post back.

I havent done Furmark. I should note that some games using 2 cards, but only 50-55% of each... kinda weird. Where do i get cpuid hardware monitor? Im at work, gonna post all those bad boys once i get home. The only games i can get a solid 60fps are games like batman and bulletstorm (console ports) :(. Metro 2033, Crysis, Crysis 2, GTA IV, Dragon age 1 and 2, all run anywhere between 18-55 fps. Definitely poor performance for the hardware... Crossfire bridge is connected, i got my drivers from that site, i downloaded the first option. I am using driver sweeper to thoroughly clean my drivers off the pc, Windows experience grades my CPU/RAM/GPU at 7.8 out of 7.9....

Download this also, they are revised profiles for the games - http://www2.ati.com/drivers/hotfix/catalyst_application_profiles/amd_catalyst_11.3_cap3.exe

Batman is also a High requirements game. The problem with games like Metro 2033 and GTA IV and Crysis 2 are they all are poorly coded and cannot be trusted. But still all of them failing at once is pretty weird.

Here's another way to trouble shoot. Take a card out....try running only one card and see whats up...maybe with a little lower settings.

BTW for 3dmark Vantage test I think you should select High or Extreme tests...your pc is way beyond "performance"

Download and install driver sweeper from here:

http://downloads.guru3d.com/downloadget.php?id=1655&file=4&evp=b0e23b57cdae2217c3d377655ad3ce34

and download the latest drivers from here, but don't install them yet:

http://www2.ati.com/drivers/11-3_vista64_win7_64_dd_ccc_ocl.exe

Go to start > control panel > programs and features and uninstall Catalyst Control Centre (CCC)

Then, run Driver sweeper and search for ATI drivers and delete what comes up.

Restart, install the latest drivers that you downloaded before, restart again and try again

kinda a odd thing to add...but last night i kinda ran out of ram with 8 gig....compiling a Secondlife client while running one...i started to hit my upper limit on ram...but for general gaming.... 16 gig is really unnecessary...im looking at 16 gig because Visual Studio 2010 C++ seems to be a goddamn pig...
