I was looking around NewEgg.com today. I noticed a Gigabyte Zambezi Processor Socket AM3+ Motherboard already out. Zambezi Processors are not scheduled for release until June 20th. How many other Socket AM3+ motherboards are already on the market?

GIGABYTE GA-880GMA-USB3 Socket AM3+ AMD 880G Motherboard - $105

DDR3 1866 RAM is somewhat more expensive than Double Data Rate 3 1600 memory.

Even I saw that AM3+ board got a bit excited the the release is near.
Even I am looking forward to upgrade if the Zambezi turns out really good, tired of my stupid hot intel and its poor overclocking abilities and the changing socket.(No war please just talking about my chip ie 1 chip)

But the question is who would buy those AM3+ boards now without checking out the review with a AM3+ CPU on it.
I would wait till Bulldozer has been pitched against a fight with the sandy bridge from any trustable review site.

If someone was building a AMD system now, getting a AM3+ socket board would be a good idea, just for the upgradeability of it to Bulldozer.

But just upgrading your board for a AM3+, is not a good idea. You would be better of waiting for the real 900 series chipset AM3+ boards.

I thought of that but then he would have to sell of his cpu and get a new one and when the full range of the motherboards get released his would be lagging behind also. And also if the bulldozer is a failure he would be facing epic fail.Even though I am sure it would perform better than the phenom IIs but still the difference might not be much, nothing can be predicted without the reviews.
