Running a program in background ??

Hi there,

I know how to run a program as soon as windows boots up but the question is, is it possible to run it in background without knowing user that program is running. For instance, when u install msn messenger, yahoo messenger or any antivirus etc.. they sit in notification area as soon as windows loads. Can I do that with my program aswell ????
 
So you want to auto run the program without the end user being able to know your running it? In which case, what might this program be?
 
like i want to run a camera software on pc, I know it can run automatically as soon as computer booot up's but the only question is it comes on the screen as well and then it depends on the user if they want to close it or keep it on and I dont want that...

The only thing i want is user wont be able to see it, if the program is running it should be running in the background like most of the freeware software do i.e. skype, msn, yahoo or any antivirus... they just sit in the notification area and do thier job, they dont bother user and dont come up on screen...
