computer help

There was recently a severe storm with a power surge at my house, we shut down the computer but when it was started up it told us to run vista recovery, and then some of our programs (for example google chrome) were deleted. the gpu fan kept running almost non stop during recovery so we shut it down all day. i was curious if this sounded like some hardware was fried or if you had any opinions on it

I think it would be the PSU or motherboard which went bad since, the GPU fan is spinning at full speed even after post.
Try plugging in some other PSU and running the computer.
If it still is having the same problem then it might be the motherboard, but get your PSU checked anyways. :good:
