Need help with Video Card

I have a stock Dell System, and in need of a Video Card

My system:
Dell Inspiron 570
AMD Athlon II X4 630 2.80ghz
4.00gb Ram
750gb internal, 1tb external
Windows 7 64bit
No video card
Hipro HP-P3017F3 PCU

I would like to get a EVGA GeForce GTX 550 Ti, but I don't have a 6 pin connector out of my PCU.

So I need to upgrade my PCU also, any body have any ideas?

Is it better to set up a new PCU and hope it fits to my motherboard or just get a new motherboard that will fit to a PCU of my choice and then add the GPU and add everything already inside.

Well what I find that I'm reading is that Dell are little b@stards when it comes to PCU and use some form of weird wiring.

Then I understand that replacing the whole PCU can just plug into the same setup and give me what I wish. so I can just switch them out and hook everything up?

Then, anything cheaper? I know I'm cheap, but I'm cheap for a reason.

You won't have an issue swapping the PSU.

And as far as "cheap", you don't want to be cheap with a PSU.

$200 doesn't sound bad for the:

EVGA GeForce GTX 550 Ti
the PCU you chose
and some Ram

right?
 
I would go with AMD if you want to go cheap.

And why are you upgrading your RAM? Win7 64 bit does not utilize anything about 4GB of RAM. I would save your money. Only way it would be worth it if your MoBo supports faster RAM.

$60 is the minimum for your PSU, so that would leave you $140 for the video card.

This is what I personally would choose:

It'll blast through any game.

If your PSU does not have the connector you need, you can always get a converter for it, but the video card I linked will work with that PSU.

MoBo? What? Sorry, kinda new, but not to computers. I deal mostly with software.

Well my computer runs at full memory while playing a game. I tried to play Brink, menu sucked, and game play was there, but 1 frame per 3 seconds. FUN

What's the difference between the Video Cards? Why not the EVGA?

Also, I don't have just $200. I'm thinking of spending under $300 so you have a better range. But I'd like to get the RAM and a internal HD too.

EDIT: I'd also like to get a PCU regardless because it's a good upgrade and my PCU only handles 300mw, which my system takes 280~ so then a video card would overload the PCU

Sorry about that. Motherboard, where everything is, basically. Mainboard is another name for it.

Are you sure it runs at full memory? The reason your games are running slow is because a lack of a video card.

Nvidia video cards are very high price, so you'll have to spend more to get a lot of power. With AMD/ATI cards, you get more bang for the buck.

But the card I posted earlier is a very good card still, so you have extra to spend on a decent HDD.

Do you need an HDD? 750 GB is plently in my opinion.

And yes, being that it's a pre-built computer, the PSU generally are not good at all.

If you want to upgrade, be sure everything's compatible. Does your motherboard have a PCI-e x16 slot? Do you have enough room in your case for a large video card? Can you add more RAM? Can you add faster RAM? Is your hard drive SATA? Is it SATA 3 GB/s or SATA 6 GB/s?
