Problem running memory test

I've been trying to run a memory test on my laptop using a copy of Memtest86, I burned to a CD. But the three times I've tried to run it the computer shuts off at about 11 to 14 %. Anyone else had this problem?

Try using the linux mem test. I believe you can run that from the love cd. I usually use ubuntu 9.04

Either the laptop is overheating or you definately have a memory issue. How old is the laptop?

Almost two years old. It's probably both. I know my laptop is about to go out on me thats why I started running diagnostics on it.
