"accidental" hard drive failure

bit of an odd request, but I could do with a tool or a method that makes the hard drive fail permanently. Preferably something that looks accidental? thanks for any help. much appreciated

For what purpose?

You could try to short circuit it or put too much current through it. Would fry it. However, all of the data would still be there and easily obtainable by someone that knows how

A magnet won't kill the drive. If it is powerful enough it might corrupt some data, but it will not be dead by any means

If you're looking to get a "new" drive under warranty, you won't. It'll be a Refurbished drive.
