Hello CF, I am planning on upgrading my slowly ageing Samsung Syncmaster P2270 (23") to a more luxurious higher spec'd Asus LED 27" Monitor the monitor i own now is below

The new monitor i'm looking at purchasing either today or monday is also below i'm looking at purchasing this monitor for its greater size and greater quality to images brightness and truer (if that is even a word) colours.

If anyone has this monitor or knows anything at all about it especially if you know how it performs in gaming I would definantly like to hear from you. :) thankyou

I actually made a post about this about a month ago or so. Everyone was pretty much in agreement that a 27" monitor HAS TO BE at a resolution above 1920x1200. Otherwise because we sit so close to our monitors, it really shows its flaws at the resolution.

So i'm sticking to my 24" Acer until the 2560x1440 or whatever that resolution type monitors comes down in price a bit.

I'm afraid i will have to disagree with you there for the reason that my PS3 looks immaculate at 1080 P on my 60" TV running HDMI from how ever close up you stand.

I was looking at that monitor a while ago do you need the webcam? you can get the same monitor with no webcam also. I don't think there is a mic with the webcam. I agree with Chris about resolution it all depends on how close you are.

Yeah i saw the one without the webcam its only $50 difference may aswell get it don't have to purchase a webcam then.

Yeah will do should have it by mid next week. I will post a detailed report on what I think of it over my current monitor.

That looks like a nice monitor and the pricing ain't bad either.

In 27' the higher res monitor are really expensive. And Full HD won't be so bad.

I am using a 26' @1280x720 for extra screen space.
Whenever I play any 720p movie on it looks completely amazing.
And ever DVD movies don't look so bad either.
SO I think you will be good with a full hd on 27' until and unless you are photo editing. Gaming it would be fine and awesome. :D

Just a little teaser here my new monitor has shipped and will be arriving in a little over 6 hours time. Review soon!

I have a couple of 20" ASUS LED monitors that look very much like that one (same base, same buttons, same design). I upgraded from some old Viewsonics and I definitely can tell a big difference in the color quality.

Sorry about the delay i decided to clean out my case and desk of dust while i had the PC out.

Ok first impressions i opened the box and saw a well made excellent quality large size 27" LED monitor with the ASUS logo we have all come to love/trust over recent years

Once i plugged in all the cables I booted up the PC and found a beautiful display very bright straight out of the box couldn't ask for anything more. i searched scanned every cm/pixel for any signs of dead pixels found nothing everything is as i expected another quality item from ASUS

Once Booted into Win 7 i looked at the desktop display it was much easier on the eye than my old 22" and straight away i noticed how much of a difference in size it was to the 22". To test this i went onto youtube and watched a 1080p music video (thought it was easier than looking around my hdd for one :P) and it was so clear you could see every thing that was going on in the video.

For normal/general use as i am using it for now it is the perfect size everything is the correct ratios on the screen. I have nothing but applause for ASUS and how they have constructed this monitor

Gaming i have not tried yet but i will be playing some JC2 later today and will be very much looking forward to it with the stunning visuals that game offers. I will report back and let ya's all know how it performs but i am sure the < 2ms will offer a great gameplay experience.

If you are looking for a large monitor with an awesome display and at a reasonable price ASUS is definantly the way to go I applaud them and this is why I always choose their products "Quality"

Pictures coming soon I took them but couldn't find the cable.

Thanks for the update.

Does the webcam come with an integrated mic? How's the warranty compared to other manufacturers?

Do you prefer the bigger screen size? Do you see any flaws in the screen resolution?

How far away are you sitting from the monitor??

To be honest i haven't installed the drivers for it yet I will check the manual in a sec as for warranty its 3 years worldwide warranty although i've never had to use it yet for an asus product.

How far away are you sitting from the monitor??

Not far at all as i didn't measure right and the monitor hasn't got enough room to fit under the top of my desk :o woops lol. Just measured and i'm sitting 45-50 cm from the monitor atm everything looks perfect though at this resolution.

So after a day or so of gaming this monitor is brilliant i recommend this monitor to anyone looking for a 27" LED bright display Full HD monitor everything is clear whether on desktop, word processing or in games you can see much more of what is going on than you will on any of the smaller screens all in all this monitor was an excellent purchase no regrets.
